Georgia-Pacific has a unique Human Resources Generalist opportunity to work in partnership with managers in support of Georgia- Pacific’s facilities HR operations support needs. This role will provide innovative solutions to the business, advancing the new HR operating model. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent critical thinking skills, an inclination to use technology, and a desire to partner with site supervisors and leaders to build capability and deliver solutions. This role will continue to evolve with the new HR Operating model, and therefore there is a strong need for flexibility with the ability to advance multiple priorities.

This opportunity will be remote with the expectation of minimal travel.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Supports multi Georgia-Pacific facilities to drive education around HR processes and efficiencies.
  • Accountable for identifying opportunities to profitably leverage technology, while prioritizing and responding to issues using HR tools, knowledge, and creative thinking skills.
  • Conducts training and coaching, to supervisors in HR Systems and HR processes.
  • Owns various HR related projects as team evolves.
  • Consults plant leadership to help them better understand practices, themes, or gaps in training to develop solutions.
  • Leads and influences change by leveraging stake holders and customers.
  • Guides the escalation and resolution of HR questions, issues, and requests to the appropriate channels (e.g. HR Service Center, HROS, etc.), by acting as a champion of the HR shared services delivery model.
  • Enables supervisors at each plant to use self-service tools available to them.
  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement in HR functions and processes by pursuing value added consistency and standardization.
  • Provides data analysis and reporting solutions to business leaders, including creating and modifying formulas in Excel, manipulating, and analyzing data.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Experience and working knowledge of payroll and timekeeping

What Will Put You Ahead

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficient in multitasking in high activity environments
  • Power or Tableau business intelligence tool capability
  • Kronos experience

For this role, we anticipate paying $70,000 – $90,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
